“Urban Pride” is the name for a theme of the COLOR TREND GUIDE 2018 by NCS Colour. I visited the lecture of Karl Johan Bertilsson at IMM Cologne in January. I think red is a good choice because it stands for revolution, rebellion and riot as well as for solidarity and other social issues. And blue stands for denim – the fabric of the working class. What kind of patterns can you think of for this theme? Graffiti maybe? For me it is Aztec patterns. It symbolizes the solidarity with native American tribes fighting for their right for clean water. I also revealed this theme in my book calling it “Tribal triangle” where I suggest to use primary colors combined with hues of brown and beige.
